Afghan Girl’s School Fundraiser
On Saturday, November 12th, Nagma Gandhi will once again host the Afghan Girl’s School fundraiser. The event celebrates the education of 600 little Afghan school girls and will present a video of the school which is located outside of Peshawar, Pakistan. During the event, you will enjoy a delicious Indo Pakistani meal as well as the opportunity to shop for lovely items from Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan.
Suggested donation is $50, but a gift of $90 will educate one girl for an entire year and $130 will pay a teacher for a month.

Open Mosque Day
Join the Ventura County Interfaith Community as it visits the Islamic Center of Conejo Valley for its annual Open Mosque Day on October 23rd from 12-3pm. The mosque is located at 2700 Borchard Road, Newbury Park.
Islam and the Modern World
Holy Family Church in South Pasadena is sponsoring “Islam and the Modern World” with Jihad Turk on Wednesday, May 11th from 7-8:30 pm.
Jihad Turk has been instrumental in the establishment of Baan Claremont, a graduate school designed to educate Muslim scholars and religious leaders. He previously served as the Director of Religious Affairs at the Islamic Center of Southern California, the oldest and largest mosque in the Los Angeles area.
The event will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1527 Fremont Ave, South Pasadena, CA. For more information, phone 626-403-6116.

Partnering with Oxnard and Camarillo in cleaning riverbeds and with Food Share to provide healthy food for families in our community.
What:
- Riverbed cleaning &neighborhood gleaning (ward specific assignments forthcoming)
Where:
- Oxnard – meet at Plaza Park (corner of 5th street & C street)
- Camarillo – meet at Constitution Park (corner of Carmen Dr. & Paseo Camarillo)
What to Bring:
- Sunscreen, hats, water, closed-toe shoes, & friends
- If cleaning riverbed: garden tools (rake, shovel, gloves)
- If Picking Fruit: long-sleeve shirts, gloves, fruit-picker or clippers, bag/buckets to carry fruit, & step stool
